Providing instruction and training to relevant staff is a requirement outlined in the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work, Regulations 2007, that must be adhered to in relation to manual handling.
The aim of our Online Manual Handling Training Course is to provide participants with the knowledge, skills and attitude to enable them to lift and move loads in accordance with good manual handling techniques.
On successful completion of this course, delegates should be able to:
Be aware of the necessity for safe methods of manual handling to reduce the risk of injury.
Understand the need to avoid manual handling by using mechanical aids where possible.
Assess the task using the TILE criteria (task, individual, load, environment).
Implement the correct method of lifting ensuring minimal risk to self and co-workers.
Know how to safely execute all relevant workplace manual handling tasks.

The online assessment is taken on completion of the training material. You will be asked 10 multiple choice questions with a pass mark of 80%. The answers are marked automatically so that you’ll instantly know whether you passed. If you don’t pass don’t worry! You can take the test as many times as you need with no extra charge.
