This abrasive wheels training course is legally required for all those who are involved in the selection, storage & handling, mounting, dressing and use of abrasive wheels. This course is designed to instruct participants in the theory and practice of safe use of Abrasive Wheels to comply with the “Abrasive Wheels Regulations 1982” (SI 30 / 1982).
To enable candidates to carry out the safe selection, mounting & safe use of abrasive wheels in accordance with the relevant regulations.

Selecting the correct wheel for the job
Inspection & testing of abrasive wheels
Guarding of grinding and cutting operations
Dressing and truing of abrasive wheels
Functions of components, flanges, blotters etc
Differences between grinding and cutting operations
Safe mounting of the abrasive wheel
Assessment
The online assessment is taken on completion of the training material. You will be asked 10 multiple choice questions with a pass mark of 80%. The answers are marked automatically so that you’ll instantly know whether you passed. If you don’t pass don’t worry! You can take the test as many times as you need with no extra charge.
